Cline ​ VSCode AI Programming Assistant Plugin, supports automatic coding, terminal command execution, and file operations, compatible with OpenAI Compatible API.

Installation ​

• Open VSCode
• Go to the Extensions store (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
• Search for "Cline"
• Click Install

Configuration ​

• After installation, click the Cline icon in the sidebar to open Settings
• Set API Provider to OpenAI Compatible
• Fill in the following information:

Base URL	https://www.fast-api.org/v1
API Key	sk-xxx
Model	Enter model name, e.g. claude-sonnet-4-20250514

• Click Save

Usage Example ​

After configuration, enter a task description in the Cline panel:

Help me create an Express server with a /health endpoint

Cline will automatically:

• Create and edit files
• Execute terminal commands (such as npm init, npm install)
• Read project context

API Connection Failed Prompt ​

Make sure Base URL is set to https://www.fast-api.org/v1 (the /v1 suffix is required).

Model List Is Empty ​

Manually enter a model name in the Model input box, such as gpt-4o, claude-sonnet-4-20250514.

Response Interrupted or Timeout ​

Check your network connection, or try switching to a faster responding model.

• Base URL needs the /v1 suffix: https://www.fast-api.org/v1
• Cline will automatically execute terminal commands; please review its operations carefully
• Supports multiple models, choose the appropriate model based on task complexity
